Is it normal i hate the name, "derek"?

Just to say, I mean to offend no one if you have the name Derek, because I bet some of you are caring people.

Though, during the past couple year's, I have had only bad experiences with them. For example:

1. During my teen year's, this dude named Derek was upset at me for dating this girl, and he threatened to literally beat the living h*ll out of me. To make it worse, he was my neighbor.

2. Year's later, another one comes in, and when I begin dating again, another Derek comes in, spreads rumor about me, and she dumps me over him.

3. Again, same issue, dating again, few year's later, this guy flirts with my girl, I become outrage, and stand up to him. He gets upset and threatens me that he'll get his sister and friends to beat me and her up. Well long story short, he was another issue in my life.

If any advise to how I may stop disliking the, please let me know.

    You probably won't ever stop liking the name. It's perfectly normal.

    Have you ever heard a couple go through a baby name book? "Uh, no! I knew a [insert name here] and she/he was such a [insert adjective]! No way we're naming our kid that."

    See? Perfectly normal.

      Yes i have heard couples do the baby name book - saw my parents do thay to my sister, and listen to them doing it to me.

    "Derek" is a harsh sounding name. It reminds me of those school bullies in films.

      What name would people consider the good person then in film's?

    There should be a movie on killing Derek, I mean any Derek. Just kidding. I didn't like the name either and I hate the name "Angelo". I know it means "Angel" in Spanish, it's Angelo Sotira whose becomes a problem to me. Big fat Greek idiot.

      Make a similar movie called KillBill but change Bill to Derek... Yeah that's sounds harsh of me to say.

      I never met any Angelo, i met other people that have angel in it and they seem nice, well to me anyway's.

      How has this person become a great problem?

        All I said he wanted money to make DeviantART a website to have amateur artists making crappy art instead of professionals doing their portfolio. He's never a cynic to me. I do have a cousin named Angelo though, but he's family to me anyways.

    I have this friend I used to like, then he hurt me a little & now we're friends again. And guess what? His name is Derek!

        Emotionally; he just ignored me for a while. But he's nice again now so I forgive him.

        Derek Sanders is the lead guy in the band Mayday Parade. Seems like a chill guy..he recently had a baby.
