Is it normal i hate people who act mysterious and special?

Actually, this is a bit of a rant as well as a question...

I've always hated people who act like they're mysterious and more special than all of us.

For example, on YouTube, there are people who make Maplestory videos. Some people have personal characters, and some of those people add fangs to their characters, and pretend to be mysterious and all that. It bothers me so much. Like I once saw a video of this person who made a story, and he's the main character. Apparently, he's 50% demon, 25% vampire, and 25% fox demon. Like what the hell dude? I mean, you're pretending to be everything that seems cool at once. It bothers me so much.

Another thing is once this girl did a tag video, and she made herself two different people, five facts for each.
It went like this:
1. I'm shy
2. I don't like people
3. I have few friends
4. I'm very secretive
5. I'm always alone.
Then
1. I'm going to be here for her
2. I'm evil
3. I like torturing people
4. I like killing people
5. I'll leave her when she's ready to be alone

I'm assuming the last fact was about the first person, and what bothered me was that, well, look, seriously, are you trying to tell everyone you're really special and have someone watching over you? Because if I were you, I'd keep it a secret.

I know, "She may just be pretending," and all that, but correct me if I'm wrong, when you're tagged to make a maplestory video stating five facts of yourself, it doesn't go like that. You state 5 TRUE facts about yourself.

I know I'm being unreasonable, but you know, it's always bothered me.

Is this normal?

Its normal I think. They just want attention. It reminds me of how I hate people who try to act "deep"

I don't think you're being unreasonable but you are letting them frustrate you. You sound more intelligent than them. Have you ever considered subversively mocking them in videos of your own? Make it subtle enough and they probably won't even know, whereas people with the same sensibilities as you will probably appreciate it muchly.

about the youtube thing,
People have always loved the idea of being their "super selves". However too much TV/Books and seclusion from the real "boring" world around them has allowed the idea to grow into what you'll see on youtube, the fashion e.t.c

about the girl,
in order to feel special, people (kids especially) will feign false problems that call for extra care and concern.
Like "I'm allergic to eggs/nuts" can be translated to "I'm fragile,special... be more concerned for me, I need you to love me now".

They don't want to be like the rest of us. Human beings want to be valued and noticed, but some want to be valued more.
It could be that genuinely they don't feel loved, or they could be egotistical bastards. whichever it is, and if your not their parents/spouse there is little you can do about it but wait for them to grow out of it.

It is a video game right? Video games are made to be fun, so let them be. Why should it bother you how someone else decides to portray themselves on something that is not even real. I think that you might be obsessing over it and maybe you should take a break for a while.

I get what you're saying. And its like they're always trying to pull you in and keep you out at the same time. They give a little information, and boom! You're suddenly intrigued. And thats what they want, but oddly enough, thats what they don't want at the same time. It does get annoying, because they're doing it purposely, and you just wanna know the damn truth. They should be more straigh forward. More predictable.

When it comes to men though, mysteriousness can make them really sexy, but at the same time it gets you constantly wondering what their deal is.
