I m 33 and honestly i dont even understand all this popularity as if is something new, when i did it twice when i was 14 Just with the first chats. And it was enough to see is a stupid waste of time and nothing like meeting people in person around. Plus today all this bullshit of advertising yourself with the profile like you are a salami on sale. Really how can people loose time on this shit? Even if they wanna pump stupid tv shows with great people marrying thanks to this, the real stories of everyday friends doing that are Just so sad and stupid is unbelievable to me. Is the capitalism of relations. Is that normal seriously for you? I never had problems to meet real meaningful people in everyday life. How can people loose time in this way?

    People don't "loose" all this time. Online dating is a legit way to date. Just because you dislike it doesn't mean it's useless.

    Of course dating sites are filled with dudes in their 40's wearing baseball caps, beards and bad selfies.

    If you have no problems meeting potential hook-ups or long-term partners in real life, congratulations. You don't have to use online dating apps if they're not to your taste.

    You say that they're about advertising yourself, and you're right. But it's also right that the traditional dating scene was about either the meat-market of discos, chance meetings at work or via friends, all of which severely limited the pool of people you encountered. I had no option but to use those methods back in the day, and I'm certain I would have been much happier if I had the options available now.

    I met my wife via an online service ten years ago. I guess you'd call us sad and stupid, but if you want to toss around insults, what you write makes you sound like a player who's really full of himself.
