Is it normal: i hate kids these days!

This is sad because I'm in my twenties, but I already am in the mindset of hating younger generations.

Seriously, everywhere I go there's a kid running wild. I can't have dinner at a nice restaurant without a 4-7 year old who should know better running around screaming. At the grocery store. At the library. In the hallway at my apt complex. At the doctors office.

And their parents just smile because little Johnny is expressing himself. They say, "We don't believe in punishment." The managers ignore it because they're afraid of a lawsuit. No one is willing to say "NO. Sit down and shut up," like when I was a kid.

I feel crazy for getting so annoyed but I'm sick of having kids almost bump into me when I'm walking, or having to talk over them because they won't stop yelling. Or watching them crawl under other peoples tables.

Maybe it's just the city I live in but I think its the new generation. When I was in high school, I used to love kids. Now every time I see one I cringe and expect the worst. IIN?

i dont necessary hate kids that young i start hating kids when there around 14 (most of them) because of how disrespectful they are. the act like they are grown but they are clearly not. kids now a days are sexting and hanging sex.. i could go on with more but i think you get the point.

but in what you are referring to i have to say its kids raising kids. so many teens are having babies when they haven't even grown up yet themselves.

I agree. When I was young, we could NOT get away with this crap. It's disgusting. My aunt was this way with my cousin and he actually turned out okay, other than being kinda spoiled. My mom started having us at 19 and since kids are so difficult to raise, I'd recommend everyone waiting until 30+.

Actually, I had twin boys at 18. I'm happily married to their father, at 24. We don't act like kids. I think people grow up at different rates.

i didn't mean it in a disrespectful way. i more so meant at the age of 16. or even people that dont realize there parents and want there parents to raise their kids. i dont want to stereotype anyone. my mother had me at 18 and i turned out pretty well. =)

i was at a restaurant in france for a little vacation with my girlfriend and kids once then some kid ran under my table becuase i dropped some door he picked it up put it in his mouth and spat it out at my girl friend and she just let it go but i could tell she wanted to put this kid on her hit list then some more kids (a bit older then the other kid) tried to mug us out side thats when one of my sons freaked and beat the shit out of them its crazy i guess karate lessons payed off :3 so basicly only your own kids will respect you nowadays (augh kids!)

I know! Kids are AWFUL these days. They're a bunch of spoiled little brats, and their parents don't do anything about it. If I had pulled the kind of stunts they do now when I was little, I would have gotten a pop on the butt.

    Hey there!

That does sound pretty bad, actually.
I have five-year-old twin boys, and my husband and I never let them behave like that! We live in Ireland, where quite a lot of the kids are taught from day one to be openly respectful.

    Good luck!
