It's insulting. A girl is a child, a woman is an adult. Men should not be so disrespectful. When they refer to a woman they are interested in sexually as a girl, it reveals that they are pedophiles. Any man who calls a woman a girl is a pig who should have his genitals cut off.

I sometimes feel like if I call a woman a woman, they might get offended forthwith age so I call them girls
If I were to talk about a woman who I really like to a friend let's say I wouldn't say" oh I like this woman because..."
Instead I would say..".I really like this girl because..."
Woman is an awkward word, saying girl just sounds smoother
it is a compliment to a women, because it shows that you think they look young.
age is a continuum, we do not suddenly move from one stage to another like a lightswitch being turned on. ergo you are an oversensitive asshole.
You know, this poster has some very obvious problems with regards to all that genital-cutting etc. But on the other hand, it does warrant a debate why we call men "men" and women "girls."
You're taking it way too literally. I'm a 19 year old female, & I often say "hey girl," even if the other girl is older than me. There's nothing wrong with it. At all.

I think it's because they are just used to saying girl. It's true though, when I see people writing how they want to date a girl, I just think you're gonna date someone under 18 that's probably not gonna work out anyways. A bit off topic but women are the most beautiful living beings ever. :)
