I go to comedy shows alone, because I figure I'd rather go by myself than miss out. I wish I had the guts to go to bands by myself but for some reason it makes me nervous. Good on you for going.

It's easy to socialize with people you know have similar interests. I think it's normal. If you want to see a show badly enough, what's going to hold you back?
I think many people will say it isn't normal, because most people tend to draw into groups. But it's not abnormal. I think it's enjoyable to do things on my own. It's somewhat liberating :)

I've done this once. It sucked and felt very awkward.

  • There's nothing wrong with it. It's just majority of people don't have the confidence to do it.

Yep, as Mel says it's better to go alone than miss out completely on something you really want to be part of. I've gone to see bands alone before, and with friends before. Both are a good time.

What's wrong with that? Do you make any friends that you can possibly go to other shows with?

Or do you prefer to go alone.

I think that makes you a super cool dude, even if it isn't "normal." Normal is boring anyways.
