Is it normal i get urges to see my or others blood?

Okay, so I've been really feeling odd lately. Like...I have a horribly strong urge to make myself bleed. To cut deep but I can't. I don't know why. But I'll make little and thick cuts on my wrists and directly on the vein. Down my wrists. I wont do anything but stare at it. I wont lick it. I wont smell it but I'll grab a book and start smearing words into it. I don't know what to do honestly. Is it normal to do this? Is there a name for this obsession? Because if there is I would like to know it. I started to creep out my friend with this and I don't wanna do that. But I don't get a sexual thing from it. Just a kinda thing of awe. It fascinates me. Makes me want more. It just looks and feels great. To me anyways. When my friends bleeding I usually take my thumb and poke it then mess with it for a moment but quickly wipe it off on my jeans because of creeping her out. But eh...Is it normal? What's it called? Do I need help?

it's pretty strange by the way , maybe not to me but definitely to others . I fear for your health and such since you are slashing yourself to fulfill the obsession .

You should see about becoming a phlebotomist. You get to see beautiful dark red blood spurting into tubes all day long.

"I assume you have a psychotic condition called hematomania, where you have a blood fetish. This can be very dangerous, because it can affect you so very badly that'll you'll start cutting yourself and others regularly for blood. I suggest you do tell your parents and go to a psychiatrist immediately. I would also recommend your parents don't leave you alone too long and hide all knives and sharp stuff"

I would probably see a psychiatrist to get it figured out and hopefully he/she can help you get rid of this obsession. It's definitely not normal. I'm not trying to hate on you but it would really suck if your blood obsession went too far causing serious complications. I would get help before you get dangerously hurt.
