Is it normal i get my cramps this bad?

Usually the first day I get my period, I feel lightheaded and faintish, I faint and get hot flushed then I can't get comfortable for hours. It's so bad I'm terrified when I know im going to get my period, how can I stop this? It last for hours and I'm always left laying on the bathroom floor.

    I have no idea, as I am a guy, but this seems excessive. I suggest seeing a doctor. Even if it is normal, he might be able to do something, or have some advice that will help.
