Is it normal i feel this way about "diversity"

For so many years now all i hear is how amazing it is that we have more and more women and black and gay and hispanic etc. etc. in our schools, workplace, government, pretty much everywhere. And that we desperately need more always, because its never enough

But the last time i checked, most of the major really life changing inventions and advances and medical progress and everything was made possible by STRAIGHT WHITE MEN.

Everything from Electricity to Pasteurization to Penicillin to the iPhone, Google founders, Einstein, theyre all STRAIGHT WHITE MEN

So everyone is all excited and calling for all this "diversity" like its such a good thing but it seems to me theyre all screwing themselves over. In most cases it seems like the fast track to failure

    Google: Black Inventions

Google: First Self-Made Female Millionaire In America

It's amazing what these folks have done despite the horrendous injustice done upon them by "straight white men".

    • Why dont you start off by telling me what the most significant black inventions were. And I mean things that actually count, not the fucking peanut guy

Most inventors are outliers in general, its just the black inventors are even more of an outlier than white inventors are.

It sucks for the blacks that actually do try to assimilate to white society, white society will never accept them fully and black society shuns them since they are trying to "be white".

            Its a hopeless situation.

It was made by white straight men since they were the only ones with rights. So logically if they are the only ones allowed in the pool they are the only ones who would make a contribution. There was even a female writer who only used her initials to write since she thought if they new a woman wrote it they would not take it seriously. Everyone was pissed to figure out it was a female. That shows you have poor reasoning skills and are probobly mentally deficient. Clearly not all males are not perfect are they? Since you just proved it.

Rights have nothing to do with ability. The peanut guy had few rights and did well. There werent many others like him because of a lack of talent.

Come on, I know you must see the causality here. When for so long white straight men were the only ones getting a real edjucation, obviously they got a lot of shit done.
Imagine when you were a child I told you: "You can't go to school, you're too stupid". Then you grow up, haven't learned much and I go: "See! I knew you were stupid!"

    • They have had access to real education for a long time now. Harvard currently pays FULL tuition if you are black. And they have guaranteed spots in all the best schools today. Same goes for women and others.

And yet, they still don't do much.

A long time? Historically speaking no, not really. There are still a lot of black people in America who remember not being able to vote or even share a bus with white people. What have we invented since then? Most of it can't be attributed to a single person and a lot of modern technologies came out of Asia.
Also, I wouldnt say black Harvard Students arent doing much, as I'm pretty sure one of them became president.

Due to affirmative action he went to Harvard and became president. Ok what about inventions because we know politicians are baught and paid for you could elect stephen Hawking as President or literally even an animal because their handlers seem to control more then them

Lets stick with inventions, every brick you see layed a man put it there. Look all around you now you'll see "white man did this" Electronic devices East Asians like Japan, cmon there's your exception but lets get real here

And since ive been alive blacks have had the same chances in public schools and even an edge in institutes of higher learning and have only done slightly better in the sciences than before. Now please give me your fox news argument of how this is, through some bizarre chain of events, the white mans fault after all these years of free college money and test point perks. Come on! Tell me! And yes i went to a black school- the same education that they had.

Guilt driven white liberals will continue to make excuses against the argument you are trying to make. It's like saying all homeless really do want to work, they just can't find jobs the poor things. It's all bullshit, just like equality.

Blindly treating people, as equals, who are not your equal is not and will not ever work. Totally hopeless situation.

        • Exactly. Why do i even bother discussing it. These morons will defend stupidity until the day they die, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary right in front of them. A negro could mug them and they would still say "that is really a good man, he is contributing to society"

Or say "he tried looking for a job, he just couldn't find any". Its unbelievable the continued excuses people, ESPECIALLY WHITE PEOPLE, will keep making despite the fact, THE FACT, that blacks have plenty of opportunities to contribute to a functioing society. They refuse to do it and that coupled with our obsession to eradicate racism (which will never happen) has led to the current situation.

I guess when you get it in your head that are doing the "right" thing, you are blinded to any evidence to the contrary. The liberal media reinforcing it doesn't help.

They may have a lot more rights than before but look. Some may say that everyone has equal rights now at least in USA or Canada. But there is still a ton of racism and discrimination against people of different ethnicity and skin colour, and women.
And generally what group of people is the cause for that

Well these scientific breakthroughs happened because we didn't really know much about science in the 1700-1950's, and then women's rights were not as respected as they are now. Science is advancing though, we are getting wireless internet, multi-core, working on string theory and doing more shit like that.

I didn't read it I don't care. All I'd say diversity theoretically, would lead to new experiences you would other wise not have. And those would help you develop into a more well-rounded and wiser person, in general.

Although I feel things like that should come set my naturally, when they're forced upon people, people generally react in a negative fashion

    • Theoretically you're right, it makes sense when you think about it. Unfortunately reality doesn't seem to back it up much. The most successful companies and organizations historically that achieved the most in the least amount of time, were a bunch of like minded people who look and think the same way.

We're not running the company though, we're talking about the youth and the education system, we're more speaking of developing the youth into well-rounded contributing members of society

That's how you find yourself and you know who and what you are, it's more a matter of self-discovery their experiences you would otherwise not have.

What is like I said before diversity for diversity sake, seems disingenuous , And most likely result in the opposite effect

But what do YOU have to do with the inventions of others? Piggybacking on their deeds to raise yourself up?

  • It is hard to say what homosexuals have contributed because so many have had to hide who they are and in many places still do. But some of the things you mentioned above, Google and the IPhone may not exist without Alan Turing.

Alan Turing is largely credited as the father of computer science, creating algorithms for early computers. He also worked with the UK war department during WWII to create ciphers to break Nazi codes resulting in many victories for the allied forces and lives saved.

He may have contributed much more except that he was prosecuted for engaging in homosexual activities and given the choice of prison of lifetime chemical castration. He opted instead to take his own life at 42.

As I said, because of the historical secrecy on the subject the subject the full list will never be known, but I can provide a list if needed. Leonardo Da Vinci, considered by many to be one of the great mindminds of all time, would be on it. And he was also arrested, but not convicted, on the charge of sodomy by the way.

          • Hollywood films are almost always inaccurate for the purpose of making them more entertaining. I haven't see the film so I can't speak to its accuracy. But my facts are correct. I didn't say he was personally breaking codes, I said he developed algorithms and ciphers used for that purpose. He did this as a leading member of a large team of people assigned to code breaking. Though I am sure there are many unknown members of that team that broke codes, to say the work was done by a single anonymous person is inaccurate. To say that he did not greatly contribute to the efforts of a team he helped lead using systems and devices he helped to develop and invent would also be very inaccurate. He is owed much of the credit and I believe I am accurately giving him the credit due. If you are actually interested in the topic, you may enjoy reading some information at the following link.

I think you're right. Years back if you were female or a different race or gay you were just shunned out of certain positions and studies. At least some gays could pass. Look up Alan Turing and his accomplishments.

The blood bank was a creation of a black man. There are lists of black inventors on the net.

There are many middle class black families in this country, and some who are quite wealthy. Our society seems to be just starting to be equal in opportunities for these people. I worked with some very smart and hard working black people.

Some elements of this country, probably because of what makes the daily news stories, seem to equate all blacks to what we find in bad neighborhoods, but those people have problems and live in troubled areas which breed crime and violence and stupidity.

If you had the opportunity to form a discussion with a middle class black you'd find that he wants pretty much what you do out of life.
