Is it normal i feel nervous when texting but not when face to face?

There's a guy I met, I like him, he likes me. We spent the whole night together at a party just talking and laughing and it was awesome, no awkwardness, it seemed like we had known each other for a long time. I was really comfortable with him. But now we're texting and I've always hated technology in that sense, I feel like it kills relationships. I get nervous while texting him and think my answer for way too long. I am not that kind of person, I'm generally chilled and care free but for some reason texting makes me so uncomfortable!! I feel like I'll say something and somehow screw things up. I generally hear of people that are more comfortable through the internet or texting and less comfortable in person, so I'm just wondering IIN?

I get this way, but I'm so lonely I'm at the point where texting someone would be amazing.

Totally normal. I don't really enjoy texting myself either. When your face to face, you just say what springs to mind, whereas when you're texting your given this 'window' for a reply, which I find a little nerve racking too. Texting is just not a natural way of communication - I wouldn't say it 'kills' relationships, but I think that it can affect them negatively to a certain degree. But don't get too worried about it - just say what you feel is right and you can develop your relationship. Just don't become a little too reliant on that way of communication - invite him out and see where things go from there.

Random stuff is how these things kick off! No need to make plans is there?

Call him! You have things and experiences in common evidently. Texting is a horrid way to try and get to know someone properly.

You sound charming and laid-back. What's not for him to like?

Again: phone him. he will be delighted, I bet!

I truly wish you well. Life is too short to not follow up something like this.

If you can text him, you have his number.

So why not just actually call him? I bet he will be delighted.

    • That's good advice, thanks!
but in this case it won't work cause we're just talking about random stuff through the day, not making any plans or anything :/
