Is it normal i fainted after i got my tb test done?

So yesterday, I got my TB test done and I was fine for about 5 minutes. Then I started pressing on it to get rid of the bleeding. There was a sign that said "Please wait 15 minutes before leaving". And I asked my mother why I had to wait 15 minutes after leaving...well I found out about 5 seconds later because I randomly started getting dizzy and I layed down on my mom but I was still dizzyish..and I felt like throwing up intensly, I also got a very high fever out of normal and my face went all white. It was actually really scary.. so when I stood up to go lie down on a stretcher I passed out on the floor, but after lying there for about 5 minutes I came out of it quickly. And the nurses gave me some juice so I was hydrated. It was a really scary experience and a scary one too even though my mom will never let me live it down, lol. I have to get another one done next week to, and im freaking out because im not sure if I passed out from the needle itself or, just being compleatly nervous about it? Because I wasn't really nervous before I got the needle. So, is this normal?

Yes it is. I was 15 when I got my first TB shot. Felt fine after receiving it even though I am deathly afraid if needles. Climbed up a set of stairs to the dietician’s office and was talking to her for 5 minutes. Then I felt unwell. I said let me go outside for a second. My mom was waiting on the bench outside and I said I don’t feel good. She said I was white as a ghost. I remember my vision starting to black out but I didn’t fully pass out. I did not eat much that day. Just some Cheez its. I don’t think I drank anything either. I woke up late that day. It was the summertime. I’ve had plenty if TB shots since and never had that happen again.

Uhhh, I work in a rehab and every patient that comes in gets the bubble under the skin test and I have never ever ever seen that reaction. I've had at least 3 myself and I'm deathly afraid of needles and shots and all that crap. Never had that. Seems weird.

I recently had my first tb test done and have a similar experience. I got dizzy super fast and ended up getting sick. I think its pretty normal. I once when to donate blood and had my finger prick and almost past out. The second time i tired and had my finger pricked i have no problems. so you should be ok the next time you have it. just remember to eat and drink before hand!!

Its normal I just had my test done yesterday and nearly exactly the same thing happened to me I just passed out about 60seconds after the needle. Its rare but does happen. our body treats it as a foreign object and shuts down momentarily to stop it from spreading. Next time ask if you can get the shot while laying down and make sure to eat a lot of Natural sugars before hand, that should help you maintain consciousness

Don't you think your doctor or the nurses would tell you if it's normal or not...

I forget what TB stands for, but your reaction is not uncommon which is why they told you to wait. It could be from the needle or the shot itself. I can't remember how shots effect me, but the last time I had to give blood, I felt very weak afterwards.

It was probably from the needle. Which TB test was it? The blood test or where they put the small injection of fluid into your skin? If it's the latter you shouldn't have been touching it which they should have told you.

I just had the Interferon blood test last week, but only because they didn't have the Mantoux solution to do the skin test, but you shouldn't have been bleeding a lot from it if they did it properly, I've had a couple of them in the past and never had a problem.
