Is it normal i eat raw meat a lot?

I eat bacon strips and ground beef raw a lot, and I put raw eggs in my shakes. I've never gotten sick and it's not like I eat it as a meal, just anytime my girlfriend is cooking I'll eat some of it or I'll pick at it for a snack. Any meat I eat cooked I eat rare or blue rare. It's only beef and pork I eat raw, chicken just doesn't taste good. My girlfriend hates that I do it but it's so good lol

I only eat human meat raw and only if the person is still alive. Everything else I cook.

  • Disgusting, and sure to end badly.

I'm sure it's more dangerous to clean a cat litter box, muck a horse stall...getting a patasite from meat and one that actually negatively affects your health is exceedingly rare. Not likely at all to end badly unless OP has a compromised immune system and just so happens upon the rare tainted meat is probably less than winning the powerball.

      • Why are you aggressively defending the consumption of raw bacon?

Pointing out the extremely low chances of negative effects isn't 'aggressively defending' it.

    Good way to get worms.

Not really. Of all the ways to get worms, this is one of the least effective.

Great way to get parasites and salmonella food poisening. Trichinosis roundworm infection will occur in cases of eating raw or even undercooked pork. Combine this with the fact that pork is the fattiest of all human consumption meats. Ultimately, just because something tastes good does not mean it's good for you.

Agreed..Great way to ingest worms directly into your body. Worms, bacteria, shards of whatever was packed with the meat..Major bad. Raw pork is worse..You're basically eating bare pig's ass.

I'm a medical case manager. And know, eating raw meat is not only disgusting, but, darn unhealthy. Why do you think they put the note on packaging regarding eating uncooked meat?

To cover their asses, just like all the other stupid warnings?

Unless you're an elderly infant with full-blown AIDS, it's not very risky at all.
