Is it normal i dream about wanting to be someone i'm not?

I have been having dreams about being someone i'm not.. I'm an average guy, 6"2, 145lbs, but sometimes I feel like I could be better, I have no special talents and I'm not exactly a charmer when it comes to women. But when I dream I can sing, I can dance, I'm someone special.. Someone who means something in the world. Is that normal? I'd feel like an outcast if I told people, so I'd just like a vote to see if anyone shares the same thoughts as I do.

I know the feeling, dreaming of being a better version of yourself, perhaps even the best. However, look at the people around you who like you just the way you are. You are your biggest critique, but I think if you just focus on all the positive things about yourself the feeling should subside. However, I have my bouts where I feel like I could better, where there's an alternate reality version of me who is probably better than this version of me. But then I also realize all the good things about myself, and I think that's what you should focus on.

Everybody dreams of being somebody else, its completely normal. I'm very happy with my life, great friends, a good job, but I still dream about being somebody else. Heck throw me Brad Pitts life for a month and I'd just go nutty! lol
