Is it normal i dont show emotions

hi, i have noticed i dont seem to show emotions at times, for example, just today my friend passed away (he was 17), i felt nothing however about 2-3 months ago, my cat died and i cried almost all day, and about 7 or so years ago my great grandma died, i was at her funeral and again felt nothing.

I dont know if there is something wrong with me or not.

Oh and on a side note i watched a live video back when i was maybe 7 (im just about 18) and some girl got shot in the head and while everyone around me was shocked some were puking some were crying, again, felt nothing.

am i just a total dick who doesnt care if people die? or is there something wrong with me?

oh and one last thing, i would prefer not to go to a therapist or take any meds, i used to smoke weed then had to quit, and i have also been diagnosed with aspergers

A family member I have lived with for all 23 years of my life was found dead exactly one week ago and it has not bothered me one bit. My entire family is devastated and I feel like a complete outsider because I do not share their pain. Life must go on so what is the point in crying and feeling sorrowful.

  • I don't think it's "not" normal. Many people in my life have died and I felt nothing. Done many things to many people and felt nothing.
I tend to watch videos of beheadings, mutilations, shootings, and so on (mainly beheadings, though) and feel nothing.

So for me, it is actually pretty normal. Some people are just like that. More than you would assume. It doesn't make us different.

I can be like this especially while taking my medications. If not, I'm usually an emotional wreck or completely and absolutely blank with expression, and honestly just an ass hole. It's part of my 'condition' though apparently...
However I believe it could be part of aspergers or is just part of your personality. (Which I believe it is)
Don't stress young lad. It will be ok.

I'm about the same way. It usually takes marijuana for me to unlock my emotions.

  • I bet I could make you piss yourself and break down crying in minutes.

    Minutes I tell you.

Some people are more shocked (a numb feeling) to trauma than anything else. I think it may be related to asperges but I am reaching. Hopefully someone more qualified can answer.

Please ask the person who procures the therapy, what their official title is.

Please do not use -ists or -isms.

I don't think so I have massive headaches lately and I can feel my heart so I think I'm still "alive" inside
