I dont understand why people watch stuff. Unless its a member of your family or you want to get better at what your doing but any time else I don't understand the point.

People watch porn to get off. However this seems incredibly depressing. That is basically saying that you are too much of a loser to get sex you just have to watch others get lucky. Why would anyone want to feel like a loser?

People watch sports but never played sports. I mean why do you want to watch a bunch of random people run around tossing a ball. It would be so much more fun if you were actually in the game but you are not. You are just watching. I don't understand how people can possibly enjoy this. Its not even engaging. Whats the point?

    You dont watch porn or sports and we're the losers? I watch american football because I understand it and its athleticism is entertaining. Id rather much watch it then play it coz im lazy as fuck and prefer jerking off to porn.

    I believe thinking like this is incredibly judgmental. People do what they want and just because they don't participate doesn't mean they can't watch. Porn is entertainment meant for watching, are you saying that even the act of watching porn is only for some elite higher beings that have sex and they are the only ones allowed to watch? Some just don't want to land STDs or get someone pregnant, simple. As for the sports example, you mean to tell me that all those people in the crowd cheering for their favorite sports team are worthless saps for watching instead of playing? That is part of what a tournament is for! Whether you're sitting in the stands or watching TV, sports are meant to be broadcast for entertainment. I doubt those athletes would be as driven if the only people seeing them play were the people on the field and no one else.

    People don't put so much meaning behind every little thing like you're saying. What if I said "I don't understand why you are posting on this site when you're not even talking to people face to face, whats the point?", the answer is because you want to, right? That is why people do what they do, looking for some alternative negativity in simple things is really questionable.

      Most people don't watch porn for the storyline. In fact most porn have awful unrealistic storylines. Its laughable you say porn is made for artistic purposes since it isn't. Also you say people dont put a lot of meaning behind things but that is what you are doing. You are saying that porn is art and is meant to be an enjoyable masterpiece by all ages. No its not. Also this is an advice column in case you missed that. Not everyone is here to socialize like you seem to be. They come to anonymously ask advice since in real life they might be ashamed of it. Also there is a number of reasons why people will give advice. Its not as simplistic as you are attempting to make it. Porn is generally for the purpose of SEX.

        I never said porn is watched for the storyline, their storylines are indeed usually quite bad, typical "plumber" bad. But the fact that porn is distributed in videos is proof enough that its main point is to be watched. I also never said porn is art that is meant to be watched by all ages, please point that out in my post. That is simply putting words in someone's mouth. I also did not say anything about socializing, said nothing about reasons of why people give advice and..seriously where are you getting these lines? I clearly did not type them, argue my points on what I "did" say instead of the way you're interpreting it.

        Point is, porn is not only for people who have sex regularly as some people don't have sex for personal reasons but are free to watch porn. Several people have hobbies such as music or art and it isn't right to say that if they watch sports but don't play them that they are suddenly in the wrong. Now, if its that you or others find sports boring to watch, that is okay and normal, nothing wrong with that. People will have different opinions however and to some, lots of people really do enjoy watching sports even if they don't play them, plenty know the rules very well at that. Its best to realize that some people like watching and some don't, nether types of people are wrong, its just different preferences.

Again not everyone is here to socialize. Also some of the stuff people ask on here is probably stuff they are embarrassed to ask in real life. Here its anonymous. ITS an advice column. Surprised you have not figured that out yet. Also I never said anyone was wrong. I said I don't understand why people do it. That is not saying its wrong.

            Ah that line, I wasn't seriously asking you that, I know what the site is for and you're right, its here for advice and things they wouldn't ask in real life, I'm not disagreeing on that nor did I ever not know that, its hard not to. That is why I said "What if I said" and then said the sentence, if you took it as me seriously asking you that then that isn't what I meant, it was just an example to mirror how you were asking questions like that in your story. Try not to say I haven't figured that out yet because I've been posting on this site for quite some time as you can see and the advice portion is very clear. I can see how that sentence was throwing you for a loop but yes, IIN is for advice and that is very obvious.

            As for the last part, its already answered. Its good that you don't think its wrong for people to watch those things but the not understanding part can be answered. For example, I have a friend who likes League of Legends but I don't like the game myself for being point and click but my friend loves it. I can't say "I don't understand why she plays that game" because I know why, she simply likes the game. I may not like it but that doesn't mean she can't like it either. This also applies to the watching sports thing you're asking, people just like watching sports. Lastly, it doesn't look good to thumbs down everyone who doesn't see "exactly" like you do, people will disagree and that is okay. Try to agree to disagree.

              I said I don't understand the mindset. I don't care what other people like. Long as its not rape or hurting children or something like whatever you want.

              I am saying it seems kind of annoying and depressing since you cant do it yourself. To me that seems rather depressing and I cant imagine how people can really get passed that.

              Also you are the one attacking me for asking a question. You assume I believe its wrong and I never said any of this was wrong. You also never actually answered the question. You are just saying "Just because" that is not a real answer.

              A child would give that type of answer. Also if you don't want to be judged on that statement why did you add it at all? I already pointed out why it does not apply. So its not a very good comparison because like I said NOT EVERYONE IS HERE TO SOCIALIZE. That and a lot of people probably don't want to ask what they ask here in real life or don't want people to know they asked.

              Its like in Sex ed at school. Teacher gave everyone a paper and said you can all ask anything and ill read them. If you don't have anything to say just give paper back. So she would answer and no one would feel ashamed. Its kind of like that. It was on the inside of the paper and you would fold it and turn it in. No one has to worry about being judged or laughed at. That is kind of the point.
