Is it normal i don't understand why milk spends so much to advertise?

I really don't understand why milk has so much advertisement. They do not just have it for one country but for several. First off there is so many things that go with milk that most people eat.

Cereal is one of those things. If you buy cereal generally you are going to buy milk. As well as this they already use milk in a number of product such as cheese, yogurt, and ice cream. Yet they still pay money to make advertisements.

I really don't see the need for it. They are still going to sell milk regardless of them saying "BUY IT" so why advertise at all? It seems like it would make more sense to save that money apposed to wasting it on commercials that are not going to do anything.

  • It does seem redundant.

Maybe they're fearful of non-dairy competitors stealing their business.

I was a chick poor milk over her naked body in a porno, that would be a good milk ad.

I don't understand this either. I see this a lot for things like milk and eggs and beef. Now that I think about it, maybe they're trying to discourage vegetarianism and veganism?

Although I once saw an ad for avocados and that made sense to me, like it mentioned all the health benefits and a few things you could do with avocados. It suggested adding them to mashed potatoes which I thought was an interesting tip. Like, ads for vegetables make sense to me because we often forget how versatile they are.

    • Yes but that is vegetables are not something everyone eats, and are not in everything. Milk is used in cheese, yogurt and also is needed for things like cereal(which most people eat). Also like you said not everyone eats beef and eggs so its not like its necessarily something EVERYONE is getting. If there is something you are going to sell a lot of anyways or that people are going to need anyways whats the point of advertising?

Are you talking about milk generally, or specific brands trying to market their own product?

    • Just the fact they would market milk in general. We use milk for so many things it just seems unneeded. Also most of the commercials they show have nothing to do with milk. Its just a random event and than they say "Got milk" or "Drink milk" or "if you have milk" at the end.
