Hey! So I do not like physical touch (holding hands, his arm around me) especially in public but sometimes when were alone also. I'm totally fine with making out and being close in that way alone, but when it's the simple touches, I can't stand it! We're both in college and seriously dating. As most guys, he takes love in the physical form best, and I just really can't supply this, it make me uncomfortable..the worst part is that I can't very well explain why I don't like it. is this normal? do you feel this?

    This is normal. I hate affectionate contact in public, it makes me feel really uncomfortable. Mainly because I don't see the need to shove my relationship in people's faces. For example the other day I saw a guy carrying his girlfriend, whose legs were wrapped around his waist, through a shopping centre and kissing her. This was not needed. I just believe affection should be kept at home in private. I am only comfortable been affectionate with my boyfriend when nobody is around. It has caused problems in my relationships in the past but I just had to find a guy that felt the same way.

    I understand the whole public display, I don't like that either. I do like to be touched though but in the private of my home. There is a time and place for everything. To me it's more the respect part. Maybe you aren't really attracted to him.

    I had a girlfriend like this once. She did not want me to hug her in public, hold her hand or kiss her. It was like this for 2 months and then she broke up with me since she found me watching porn. I don't see the point of having a relationship if you don't want to be together. We never even got to kiss.

    Hand holding, cuddling, kissing, all very normal physical expressions of affection that the majority of girls and guys in a relationship enjoy.

    It's unusual that you're uncomfortable with this, but you should explain this to your boyfriend - it's a good idea to be honest about your boundaries so you can be relaxed in each other's company.

    I'm a guy but feel the exact same way and girls always ask why I hate touching so much. Like I will flip out and jump if someone touches me when I'm not prepared for it. For ne it is mostly a trust issue
