Is it normal i don't know whether or not to be grossed out by this

Is it normal that I don't know whether or not to be grossed out by this... I know I need to eat more salad but I only like Romaine lettuce and I usually buy the pre-washed pre-cut or pre-washed baby lettuce but this time I just bought the regular head of it. So I washed it, made a salad and ate it. No big deal, right? Well, when I went back into the kitchen I looked at the plate I had set the leaves on and there was this little Ladybug. The bug turned out to be dead and I have mixed feelings because although it would be gross to eat a bug it was a Ladybug and I really love Ladybugs so I was kinda sad to see it was dead. So I don't know if I should feel grossed out or sad. IIN?

Awe.... I'd be more grossed out than sad. I'd be afraid I ate a part of it or something, without knowing. I love ladybugs too lol. RIP Little Lady Bug<\3

    • Thanks for your perspective. I guess I am more sad than grossed out. God bless the little Lady Bug!

Lovingly barry it in the ground. Its body will fertilize the soil. That is the way of Life.

As long as the ladybug doesn't take a dump on the lettuce

    • A ladybug dump would probably be a very cute piece of poop! :)

It's a ladybug. It's not a big deal. I can see where you come from. But just forget about it :(

  • It's just a ladybug--friend of the garden. Don't be gross out by it, they aren't particularly germy bugs anyway. Poor little ladybug. :(

You could always rinse your "pre-washed" veggie items - it doesn't hurt.
