Is it normal i don't know what to expect from university?

I recently graduated high school with very high academic scores and have enrolled in a prestigious university. I'm not quite sure what to expect. I know a lot of colleges in the U.S are just renamed high schools full of stupid assholes who party and do drugs all day. Will the situation be different in a more elite college? Will people be more sensible and mature?

Elite college in the USA I'm assuming? Well I couldn't tell you for sure, but most schools have some amount of partying and stuff. Some of the "better" universities actually are ranked as some of the top party schools from what I hear.
What's nice about college though is that you can choose who you want to hang out with and what you want to do, and most people will respect your decision and not try to pressure you. There aren't really "cool" people or "popular" people... there's just different groups of people who are into different things, and you can choose whether or not you want to hang out with them.
There will probably be some people who love to drink and party and hook up and all that, but not everyone will flock to them kind of like in high school as much. There are plenty of people in college who don't want to do those things. Keep an open mind though!

The difference is what drugs and type of partying the students do.

At lower end schools there is more tailgating and beer drinking.

At elite schools there is more weed smoking or other psychedelic drugs

What would a clone with no intelligence like you know about any school? Except preschool, that is. Stop commenting on things you have absolutely zero experience with.

The only difference is that the people in the fancy university take cocaine and drink wine, while people in normal universities drink beer and take cheaper drugs

Take a tour of the campus.

Believe me, a tour does help. Not only will you learn about the university, but listen closely to the tour guide, because he/she will be the first impression. Along with that, meet the staff and get to know them; see if they're passionate in what they do for the school and its students.

Honestly, it all depends on your school, your professors, the people in your classes, and the administration. Yeah it's a lot of variables, but college is really different for everyone. You could love it, but your roommate could want nothing more than to just go home.

My university was great. My classmates were awesome and my professors were great. The administration actually cared and helped students to succeed (my roommate was in danger of flunking out until her counselor helped her get back on track, and financial aid helped her when she lost a scholarship). I didn't pledge any Sororities, but the Greek life at my school was pretty involved with things and did keep their parties pretty clean. There were only a few incidents on campus while I was there. Off campus stuff was another story though, lol.

But my brother's university... he hates it. The administration doesn't care at all about the students (counselors basically told him to fuck off when he needed help), his professors are assholes, and his classmates (as he puts it) are "a bunch of fuckwads". If he didn't get in on a full scholarship I think he'd have transferred out by now. Greek life there is just parties and drugs from what he tells me.
