Is it normal i don't have a "best friend"?

When I was younger, I had a best friend but at age 16, I ended our friendship because she turned psycho on me and was outright rude to me and my family. Now, at age 25, I still don't have a best friend and it makes me wonder if most people still have their childhood bestfriend in their 20s. I feel kind of lonely at times because although some of my friends are close to me, they're not as close to me as I would like to be.

Any ideas? I know I can't just make a best friend as everyone either has one or they don't seem to want one anymore since they're taken (engaged or dating).

It's fine . Not everyone has a best friend. God is mine. Can be yours too.
Anyway, not everyone has a best person friend. It's just something that happens and it takes time. Go places you enjoy and do things you enjoy and just let things happen naturally. You have friends and you aren't alone.
    Keep heart. Prayer helps.

Neither do I. Just means holidays do not get you as many gifts. I had not had one since the first grade.

I'm 20 and although I am still friends with my ex-best friend, I would be in denial if I said we still were because we aren't close anymore. It also happened at 16 for me, a sophomore in high school. I wish I had a best friend for my college yrs because it can be lonely with nobody to REALLY talk to but seeing that i'm a junior, it probably wont happen for me :( So I just hope after college I get one or two. Hang in there :)

Most people separate from their childhood friends. I have a few very good friends but no "best" friend, and none of them are from high school or earlier. Still great friendships.

Try to find ways to make the friends you are close to closer. That shouldn't be hard to cultivate - initiate more get togethers, conversations, and intimacy.
