Is it normal i don't care about the royal wedding?

I'm an American girl. I respect England as a country and obviously am happy that Prince William found Kate. But beyond that, I don't give a damn. I feel as though people (aka Americans) are getting so caught up in it when it's just a wedding! For some people in another country! I get that it probably has to do with the "princess and prince" fairytale that people like, but sheesh! I mean, I feel like weddings are overrated anyway. For the last week, it seems that EVERY news station has been doing coverage on it. I don't freaking care! I can understand that happening in England, but why does America have to be like "Oh, we LOVE England! Oooh, royals! Let's cover it 24/7 even though it's almost like making it more meaningless to those who actually should care (England)" Is it normal I feel this way?

    why on earth does it matter? hip hip hooray, some couple got married. you know what? i found out the oddest thing. PEOPLE IN OTHER COUNTRIES GET MARRIED TOO!!!!! i'm sorry, but they are nothing special. the south just got plagued with the 2nd deadliest storm system to hit America (i should know, i live there) amd there are people dead and homeless. and do u know what the sad part was? PEOPLE WERE COMPLAINING BECAUSE THE POWER WAS OUT AND THEY COULDN'T GET UP AT 4 IN THE MORNING AND WATCH THE ROYAL WEDDING!!!! oh my god, get your priorities straight.

      Ugh, I know, right! There are hundreds of people dead from tornadoes, still shit going on in Haiti and Japan and the only thing on any news channel is WILL AND KATE WILL AND KATE!

    Good to know even you Brits think its such a waste of media and money. Thankfully I ignore any channels or newspapers that have the headline "Royal Wedding Coverage." @ The author,very normal to feel that way though as many of us agree.

    I am British and I couldnt care less about the Royal wedding. To be honest it irritated me because my mail was suppost to come in on Friday and since the Royal wedding was on Friday my mail didnt come in. I dont get why the whole world should stop just because some people who no one cares about is getting maried.

    I don't know anyone who actually cared. Watch South Park, though. They recently made fun of the royal wedding. It was great.

    It's funny, all the memorabilia is American.
    The English celebrated, but America obsessed over it. The only thing different in England was streets blocked or deserted, and BBC had solder coverage of it. In America you cant bump into someone who doesn't know anything about it.

    I have no interest either. I could careless. It's has nothing tondo with the US. We don't have royalty or anything close. Why are people so excited over something that means nothing to them and will not affect their lives. How about all the bs going on here in the states?

    Well, we can't help but watch it. Every darn station had it on. Flip a station, there it is. All day today, Saturday, it has been recaps. Enough already. I'm happy William found Kate, but, come on now. Enough!

    When I was a kid I was excited for the royal wedding for Di and Charles. I remember the long train on her dress.

    And of course that turned into a train wreck of a marriage.

    In all honesty ... I keep forgetting about it.
