Is it normal i dig my nails into my arm?

I admit I know it's not right and people might think I do this only for attention, but to me this really helps me and soothes me when I'm stressed. I think it's less obvious than cutting, and less scarring too. I tend to dig my nails super hard into my left arm and sometimes drag them across my arm. Am I the only one who does this? Is it common?

  • Anyways. I thinks its normal. Some people use a stress ball or bubble rap, or screaming into a pillow. Thay are all forms of relieving stress. I do recommend you look into different forms of stress reliece thats less ...self hurting.. however i think its normal to have a stress outlet. your particular sress relice isnt teribly uncommon. I personally write poetry as an emotional realease ..im not good with stress relivce.. i usually just break down in my bed soo.....i hope you have a better time finding a stress relice hat suits you.. i still have to find mine..

When I used to get embarrassed talking to my boss at work, say for more money, I used to nip my leg so the blood ran there rather than to my cheeks.

Dunno why you'd want to hurt yourself or disfigure yourself though. Future bfs will be scared off, thinking you're a nut.

        Of course they need help!
Aren't they on here asking for advice? we're not professionals, so maybe a professional can advise some stress relief / release method that works.

They might eve come back on and tell you the method. Ever tried herbal Kalms tablets?
