Is it normal i damaged my underwear with a fart?

About 4 weeks ago i was sat watching TV with my heels up near my ass (its comfortable). Anyway i had been brewing a fart for about 30 mins. However when it came to releasing it nothing could have prepared me for what happened. I farted with such immense force i thought i had injured myself, heavens knows how i didnt crap my pants. I then went to the toilet to check if i had ripped my anus as it was sore. My anus was intact but some of the stitching in my underwear had torn! I was wearing CK underwear and they are pretty well made, so i really dont understand how i managed to rip them with a fart. Anybody else have a similar story or heard of one?

    my dad can fart whole songs out of his arse and he is in tune! but he has never ripped his undies from doing it so im not sure how true this is. maybe you already had a rip in your pants and only just realised after you farted?
