Is it normal i compare every girl to my ex-girlfriend?

I dated a girl for 3 years and we had a great relationship and mutually broke up. The break up was a year ago and I know I'm over her and everything but it just seems like whenever I get close to another girl there's something wrong with her. I always end up comparing things to my ex which no girl seems to even come close. That's why I've lately just been having one night stands and stuff. It's easy and no comparing needed. That's not the guy I want to be though. I just wanna know how to care about someone again without thinking about my ex.

Everyone is different, and sometimes, you wont get the girl that you necessarily want, but you get the girl that you NEED.
Every relationship has taught me something about myself that if I wasn't open.... if I was comparing and not just letting it happen, I wouldn't have learned.
Its completely possible that your ex was awesome and you like some of her qualities, qualities that you think are very important (or are learning are very important to you). I don't think there is anything wrong with knowing what you want, but this is how you figure it out my friend.

Well... you only think that you are over her but you truely aren't if you still think of her; espcially the fact you "compare" her to others.

You need to look at the positives in the girls you go on dates with and think of your ex girlfriends negatives.

Do you by any chance have something that reminds you of your ex?

Edit: Also if you aren't that kind of guy then freakin stop going on one night stands!

You have deep seated feelings for your ex.
