Is it normal i cant sleep with any noise?

For as long as I can remember I can't sleep with really any noise. I can sleep with like the sound of a computer fan running, but not with any other noise. Doors opening, talking, tv, even my dog moving around on his bed wakes me up or keeps me up. Is that normal?

  • I have a hard time falling asleep with noise. I am a fairly deep sleeper when I finally fall asleep, but man do I hate noise. Space heaters bug me, ticking clocks drive me up the wall, and things going on in the background distract me.

Same here. I don't know if its normal or not. I don't really care either, it's just the way I am.

Same. In fact, I have to use ear plugs to sleep.

My neighbors are shit heads that either wake me up by playing their loud, ghetto rap, screaming in Hindi into their phones in their backyards right under my window, screaming at their crying children ensuring the job security of many aspiring psychiatric workers, babies crying, crushing cans or being genuinely lame. I have to sleep during the day so this is what I deal with.

When I finish my Bachelors and get a better paying job, I'm getting a house way out in the country and a tiny little car that gets fucking 100 mph so the environmentalists in my social group won't have a shit fit and so I can go wherever I want without hitting a gas station for a while and live in quiet. Live in peace and quiet. Fuck all of you noisy bitches.

I have a hard time sleeping without noise. I always have to go to sleep with music playing and my A/C on. It should be normal.

I have the opposite problem, my window is open all year round so i can hear the trees and distant cars otherwise i can't sleep. I know loads of people who have the same problem as you though its perfectly normal

My best recommendations are do something like walk the dog extra long, or go for a run, that will help you sleep, or warm milk, but I might have to suddenly pee in the middle of the night, lol

Light sleeper, or easily distractible[sp?] are the first things that came to my mind.
Both of those are very common, common equals normal correct? Therefore I consider this to be normal.
After having a baby I can sleep through the earth caving in on itself.

But your good. Nothing is wrong with you ;]

It is normal if you do not eat enough, or do not do some kind of physical activity during the day, or you are very stressed out for some reason. Some people have lighter sleep than others, but the kind you describe usually has to do with lifestyle factors.
