Every time I leave the house whether I am dressed up or not I get honked at/hit on/checked out and I hate it! I don't think I am a very attractive person, maybe a 4 so I don't know why people cannot just leave me alone. I know I should be flattered but I'd rather be invisible.
Do you live in a neighborhood with a higher majority of Hispanics or African Americans?
In college, I lived closer to the inner city because it was all I could afford, and this shit happened constantly. I'm not racist... just saying. Honking/shouting at women CAN be a cultural thing. In Mexico, for instance, it's considered a compliment if a man does this. If the woman doesn't smile, wave, or shout back, then he knows she's not interested. If she does, the guy knows he has a chance.
I've since moved to a more suburban area. Even now, I go outside (without make-up, in athletic clothing) and get yelled at while jogging.. just not as much. Men tend to lack a certain "tact" every place you go. It's just not AS frequent. And now, it's usually just dumbass teenage boys.
Tell me I wrong! I believe the term for African Americans yelling out car windows is, "HOLLLAAAA!!"

Well, not ALL of them. True story.. I did used to work with this girl YoLandria, who told me her man (who was African/American) had a tiny cock. Personally, I've not experienced a Black man with a small penis. Up till YoLandria sharing that info with me, I thought it was a myth.

As a man sometimes it hard not to stare or do a double take. Vast majority of the time when I see a beautiful woman I'm not just staring cause she's sexually attractive but also because women are breath taking. Absolute works of art.

I really don't like it myself, I try to get use to it because shit happens, it's life... I just normally walk away when I get hit on or just act like I don't see that guy staring at me. I'll of course be nice but man... I'm not here to be used either.
Not to be mean but the college I do go to does have a lot of people that were most likely the social outcasts at their school... so of course when they see a beautiful girl that is nice to them they'll stare... but then there are the assholes that just give the horny stare... I just feel like going up to them and punching them in the face. But what good is that... plus men can't help it at times... but it would help if they had more self-control. But whatever... got to adapt to society and deal with it. :)
That happens to me every single time I go outside. I personally do though think I'm good looking but I get that attention even wearing a parka and a scarf on my face. It is normal yes and sometimes it is annoying. To admit there's not too much you can do. Men like women attractive/unattractive, young/old, curvy/skinny and in some cases you don't even have to look like a girl, men just somehow sense you are a woman even when hiding your body/face.
I'm not going to say to take their honking and double takes as a compliment, but I will say that you should be aware that you are probably a very beautiful person. People can be massive horndogs and it is completely disrespectful to do what you describe. I think that your reaction is very normal because nobody likes having perverts gawk at them. My advice would be to just avoid the places where people like that are. Don't dress in any outift that enables their behavior.

Wear a hat, hoody, and baggy pants if you're that desperate for no attention. Sunglasses might help, too. Though I doubt you can say you've always been hit on while leaving the house, since wouldn't count honking and double takes as being hit on.
