Is it normal i can turn sleep paralysis into a lucid dream?

I've had sleep paralysis for a while now and at first it was terrifying but I learned to ignore the black figures and grudges I see and close my eyes ultimately turning it into a lucid dream. Its very fun as long as you keep your happy thoughts up.
I use it for plain old fun, sex(which is very real), and even fortune telling. Has anyone else tamed their paralysis too? I notice when someone has their first then they freak out and try to get out of it. A good tip is to constantly say "its not real" for anyone willing.

Some people usually get out of SP by going into Astral Projection. I keep plants in my room to prevent beings like shadow people from getting into my room. I haven't had sleep paralysis since. Those things are absolutely terrifying. Going into lucid dreaming doesn't mean that you have escaped them. They are still quite possibly in the room with you. Some will even prey on you while you sleep by getting into your dreams. Really, you'd be safer with learning to Astral Project yourself out of the situation.

Plants exude an protective field around both themselves and the people that care for them. In many cultures, they have long been used to keep evil spirits away. Each plants has different properties. If the plant you have is sickly, it may have a harder time protecting the area it is in. Not that long ago, about a month or two back, I just had my sickly Lucky bamboo, which had been doing a fine job up until then, and I saw what looked like the outlining of a Gray Alien and a creepy old woman in a shawl that looked like they were trying to enter my room. It scared the shit out of me and I grabbed a Daisy plant and put it in my room. Currently, I have the same lucky bamboo and a money tree in my room and the two are doing fine. There haven't been any more creepy incidents.

I do think that while they prevent evil spirits from coming into a space, that they do let benevolent ones in. Once, by accident, I astral projected without realizing it and saw a beautiful non-human being my room staring at me. I didn't harm me, nor do I think that it had any intention to do so.

    • I guess I exaggerated there...it's not really "fortunes" but just sights into the very distant future. The longest I've gone was 15 seconds listening to live news and scrolling sentences in my head.

I usually experience sleep paralysis when I'm taking a nap in the middle of the day. I'll hear the phone ring while I'm asleep, but I'll just think "I can't get it, I'm still asleep." I can't wake up from momemts like that... If I try to wake up I just panic. So I just relax and go back to full, unaware sleep. I used to be able to lucid dream, but I hardly dream at all anymore now.

I've never heard of someone being doing that before, so in that sense it's not normal, but it doesn't surprise me at all that this would be possible.
