Is it normal i can't stand awkwardness?

I find a lot of things awkward. For example, giving gifts. Its not that I dislike giving or receiving gifts, but I just find the actual process of sitting there and watching somebody open a gift awkward. So much, its to the point where I would rather go on vacation during holidays like Christmas, just to avoid being there when people open gifts from me.

Here's something kinda weird... I know its supposed to be every girl's dream to have this big extravagant wedding. And I mean, I'd like to have a wedding like that (ps, I am a girl haha). But I contemplate having a wedding at all because I find certain parts of it awkward.. like walking down the aisle with my dad. Everyone is just standing there and staring at me... seems weird! And you're not really supposed to say anything when you walk by them, so that just makes it even more awkward! And taking vows. I'm sure Ill find a man i'm madly in love with, but looking into his eyes and just repeating after this pastor guy seems... well, awkward!

is it normal that I have such a dislike for awkwardness?

    Awkwardness is the spice of life. Why would somebody want mundane and normal? Nothing has ever gotten better by keeping the status quo. Weird and awkward are the greatest features of mankind, because that is how we grow and progress as a whole.

    Ya its normal. I even hate it when im around someone who just got embaressed. It makes ME feel awkward and def gives me anxiety. I too am female, From the sounds of it your a young adult as well. I actually cant stand weddings. EXpessially being in one! lol I also avoid talking on the phone alot or meeting new people because i feel very awkward doing so. This does not mean that im constantly in my house doing nothing lol because im usually really outgoing and non judgmental. :)

    I define awkward-ness as anxiety, and because of that, so much of everything is uncomfortable.....

    LOL ! I find ALL of those things awkward as well. It gives me anxiety so I avoid it.
