Is it normal i can't sing anymore?
This isn't really an "is it normal question." I just want to know if anyone has experienced this so I can find some answers. I love to sing, and I used to have a nice voice. I took voice lessons, was in chorus, got good parts in the musicals in high school, etc. I am now 21 and have experienced difficulty for a few years. I often have phlegm in my throat that gets in the way, but even when there's nothing noticeable blocking my singing, I can't make a good sound. My voice cracks and flips, and it's really weak; I have no control of it at all, and I don't transition to different notes well. I hardly sing anymore but I want to figure this out because I can't imagine not being able to sing as a hobby. A doctor told me a few years ago (when my problems started) that I had acid reflux, so I started taking Nexium. That didn't help things, and now I take Dexilant. That helps with heartburn a little but I still have voice problems. Does anyone have a similar story, and have you figured out what to do? I have an ENT appointment next week so I'll share here if I find any answers.
