Is it normal i can't put on weight?? (please read)

I have been feeling abit depressed lately about the fact i'm so skinny. People always assume i'm anorexic when in fact i prob eat more than a over weight person! My torso is a decent weight and if i ever put any weight at all on (barely anything) it goes on my tummy. My boobs are actually a decent size for my frame but i hate my lower arms and legs as there like sticks! I also have a very tiny bum and no curves at all. Does anyone have any advice on how i could get bigger thighs, lower legs, lower arms and a bigger bum? Thank you to anyone who can help me!

Some people are just like that, and if skinny is your biologically-set body type trying to gain weight would be a waste of your time. You could try to put on some muscle for definition, though that's not guaranteed to work either. Your body might change over time though, like after a pregnancy for example, or as you age.

You should learn to learn your body the way it is, after all it is yours, and many different types of bodies are beautiful. :)

Also I just reread your your post and it seems that even though you're skinny your body is apple-shaped with most of your fat on your breasts, upper arms and belly. It's just the way the fat is distributed on your body and it's unlikely to go anywhere else if you do gain weight.

It is just your metabolism, are you young? When you get older your metabolism slows down so you begin to slowly put weight on, your metabolism is good meaning the body is functioning well so you should be happy :) you may need to wait a few years to put some weight on though but it's just the way you are!:) good luck :)

I am totally with you there. I hate how skinny I am. It's embarrassing and hard to find clothes, but I can't seem to gain weight. I guess we just have to deal.

My brother is the same way. People always make comments about how he is "too thin" and it really upsets him, because he tries to gain weight but for some reason he just can't. I feel bad for him; it seems that in our society, if you are anywhere outside of the very narrow range of acceptable weight, you will be mocked, whether you are too big or too thin.

First off, we are all who we are and life would be so much more pleasant if we could just be happy with ourselves, at least how we look.
That said, I've always been about 20 pounds over what I think I should weigh and over the last 50 odd years it has been a roller coaster battle, for no real reason other than vanity.
In your case, perhaps a bit of time in a gym would help you get a little shapeliness. You could definitely increase the muscles in your legs, arms and torso if you wanted, but it might take a whole lot more work than you want to put into such a superficial thing as looks. A tan works wonders as does just being happy and confident.
I really wish this was a visual medium sometimes, because it's difficult to make suggestions on looks without seeing what we are talking about, but I'm quite sure that others do not see you as you do.
I am 66, with white hair, a bit overweight as I said and do not think of myself as much to look at, but I have a very attractive 25 year old girlfriend who thinks I am handsome and sexy; silly girl.

It could be an issue with your digestion, do you often have diarrhea or stomach pains? It could be that you have an intolerance to dairy or wheat. Look up celiac disease.

    1st: Lift Weights.

2nd: It's not how much you eat as what you eat. Eat protein..

What you have to do is eat when you're not hungry. Eat at night like an hour before bed and calculate the total calories you eat. Don't smoke or anything. Alcohol slows down your metabolism so drinking liquor would be a good idea.
