Is it normal i can't listen to text and read it at the same time?

Language doesn't matter. It's really hard to concentrate on both simultaneously. I can just listen, and understand, or read and understand, but not both, or I can, but it's really hard. The voice in my head reading is usually so much faster, or just different from the actual voice reading that I feel like there's two people talking at once.

Normal? Common? Should I do something about it?
