Is it normal i call 911 every week?

I have lived on the lake by a bridge for almost 30 years. Every year or so, someone dies jumping off that bridge, so while it's deep enough in the middle, the sides are shallow and when you hit that part, you die. There are no jumping signs as well as memorials for people who died by the bridge, yet every summer day people are jumping off the bridge. Now whenever I see this I call the police to try to discourage people from jumping there. There are many safe spots in the lake with high dives.

Umm no, that's not an emergency! Stop clogging up the phone lines because there are people that actually DO want to live and cannot get through!

It's only normal if you think it's an emergency. Take it from me, or don't.

I commend you for being a responsible citizen and looking out for the welfare of people who could risk injury or worse death from jumping off the bridge.

My question is have you approached your local city/district authority about posting more warning signs or installing larger barriers on the bridge to prevent people from jumping off the bridge?

    • I have not but there are warning signs already. I suppose they could put barriers there on the sides although it would cost a lot of money, and with this economy (usa) I don't see them doing that but I just may suggest it because it has been a problem. There is an officer there a lot of the time and it's usually teenage kids that do it no matter what.

They dont just need warning signs they need to make it against the Law if people started being ticketed and codting them Money Maybe that would cut Down on this alot.
