Is it normal i become extremely exhausted walking up the stairs?

I'm in my early twenties and I don't mean a flight or more I mean four or five steps. I'm not fat (115lb/52kg). I'm out of breathe, I feel weak/sluggish and my body aches.

I get dizzy a lot too. Sometimes to the point where I almost fall over because my limbs start to feel numb and my vision goes out for a few seconds. I get headaches every day. I'm thirsty 24-7. I get random shivers throughout the day even when it isn't cold or doesn't appear to be cold to anyone else and my hands/feet will be freezing cold. Sometimes I feel so weak to the point I find it exhausting just to sit up in bed. I basically feel (and look) like death. It sounds like anemia and someone suggested it might be so I'm going to start taking vitamins and make an appointment with a doctor, but what do you think and does anyone have anemia?

I was about to say your physical condition is really bad, but then there's a bunch of other symptoms you mentioned that made me think about some additional stuff...

Let's say, that if I had to train you I'd make you go through an extensive blood test first.

There's a good chance -there's nothing wrong, but stuff like numbness and blurry vision, you can't go wrong with a doctor appointment.

Are you on any medication that may cause this?

Anyway, don't panic about it. It'll just make you anxious and your headaches will get worse. Be sure to make an appointment with your doctor. Whatever the cause is, he's the first one to go to for medical advice.

Be sure to make an appointment with your doctor then. He'll be able to examine you better.

You probably don't drink enough water. And just because you are thin does not mean that you're in shape...

    • I mentioned I was thin because I know that's the first thing some people would think and I didn't want useless comments/jokrs about being overweight.

I'm not saying you're overweight. I said you were thin!! I'm thin and I'm not in shape. You probably aren't in shape. Unless you are. You didn't mention anything about it

No, it's not normal. Sounds like a heart condition. See your doctor.

At first I thought you had a connectivity disorder, but now I don't think so. Exactly How long has this been going on? I really think you should see a doctor, this could be serious.

It's definitely not normal, and you should go to a doctor as soon as possible (we can't accurately diagnose you over the internet).

Some possibilities: Myalgic encephalomyelitis (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), Anaemia, Multiple Sclerosis. But as I say, the symptoms you've described could be caused by many other things only medical tests can clarify. Hypotension (very low blood pressure) for example can be caused by Anaemia and result in the symptoms you've described, but Hypotension can be caused by many other conditions.

So go to the doctor! As soon as possible!

Me too, but I've been a smoker for 20 years.

Iron pills don't really do anything, eat liver instead, works a lot better. I had anemia while pregnant and got put on iron pills and got regular blood tests and it really didn't do shit.

Sorry, voted yes by mistake but wanted to vote NO! NONONONONO. I would say more, don't make an appointment but go to ER like now. This is really a bad sign so i would suggest to go to the hospital. It can be anything and do not take ANYTHING unless you talk to the doctor first. Heck, it can be a blood clot and taking even an aspirin could break off a pice and you could DIE. Go to hospital NOW!

Are you diabetic? You need a doctor's opinion.

    • Nope I was tested at graduation (last year) because I threw up. (It was hot as F in there and I don't do well with heat and being surrounded by a bunch of people plus I was sick that week.)

Maybe you need to start light to moderate exercise a few times a week until you build up strength. You can do this by walking every morning or night or by even taking swims daily to get aerobic exercise.

What your describing could be a lot of things yo.

The first (unlikely) thing I thought was MS, but since you said your always thirsty, it just sounds like your blood pressure is low. When's the last time you got your blood pressure taken?

Go to one of those pharmacies with the blood pressure machines. You can get fixed up real quick!

wait, do you also pee a lot?

    • Blood pressure...probably two months ago and it was fine.

I alway have to pee...but I think that's a whole other problem lol

Well, did you feel fine two months ago?

No, your constant urinating is probably related to whatever condition you have.

Having random sensations, weakness and your vision blacking out is probably going to prompt an MRI. Don't slack on going to the doctor bro. You'll regret it.

I have anemia and it sucks, I can be okay for a while then suddenly my vision goes blury, my ears sort of close up, climbing into bed can be so exhausting, I'm constantly feeling dizzy and sometimes my hands shake. I'm also recovering from bulimia so you can imagine the toll it took on my body. Do you have eye bags like I do and look tired all of the time? Go to your doctor it sounds like it could be low blood sugar or even anemia you can't be sure til you make that docs appointment.

Thirsty 24/7 and your lack of energy sounds like diabetes to me, but you'd also have to have other symptoms like serious weight loss etc... Either way, your fucked up

This reminds me of myself when I was in college. I'm actually quite skinny, 5'6.5 and 115 pounds, but never really realized how 'out of shape' I really am, until I had to walk up so many flights of stairs each and every day at school! I do have exercise induced asthma, but that never really was that much of an issue before. I used to run all the time. I guess I've just gotten a little lazier over the years. :/

you gotta go to any health specialist ..seam to be be very weak... the stair thing made me think may be you had very less stamina but other symptoms are needed to be consulted with doctor

You must do some sports. It's not because you're thin that it means that you're in good condition.
