I am sort of old fashioned when it comes to a relationship, so I am unsure.
Right before I kissed my girlfriend, I asked her " may I kiss you " then after she replied yes, I kissed her.
I was wondering if that is normal, or not?
I also asked the last girl I dated for permission before I kissed her for the first time. She refused.
However, she kissed me on the next date. That was nine years ago... and we are still happily married.
its a little unusual seeming. i've dated my girlfriend for 3 weeks now and we have yet to kiss, i want to kiss her for the first time at a special moment. It also seems very respectful what you did. All that matters is that she didn't care that you asked, and if she liked it than its all good.
that is just so brilliant and it is absolutely normal, respectful and decent....you continue respecting the lady....she deserves respect

yeah...don't do that. I asked this girl if I could kiss her once...She was incredibly attractive. Had a totally different background than me. I grew up in a blue collar household and her folks were doctors. I was drunk (in college) and I have no idea what I was thinking...but I asked she laughed and said she was going to sleep. I slept on the couch. The next day my best friend (and her roommate), a female, asked me why I asked her if I could kiss her. That if I did it, it would have been fine but it was awkward. I'd never done it before and I never did it again (I'm married now). That said. It could be sweet I guess maybe...maybe...but you're better off just going in for it. Women like a man that is assertive.

Seemed a little odd to me at first then I realized that when I kiss a girl I almost always ask first. Very sexy when you do it that way.

I would feel bad if I tried to force it on her. What if she doesn't want to kiss? I always ask first.

In so much as it would shock me because most guys just go for it without even asking, so it's sweet and really nice that you asked her!
