Is it normal i am very concerned about the fukushima radiation spill?

I have been very concerned about the Fukushima radiation spill that has been going on. I have read articles about how they have poisoned the entire Pacific Ocean (which is connected to the other oceans). 300 tons of radiation are leaked into the ocean every day and while I have read that it may even be worse that they say it is, I have read nothing about what they plan to do to stop it. This is a bigger deal than anything else going on right now because it will ruin the entire worlds water supply. Even the fish in California are said to be radioactive by now. I do not understand why the rest of the world is not helping stop the leak and shut down the plant. I personally think this is the worst disaster in human history as of now. I picture the day when I am old telling my grandkids about the good old days when we could eat fish and water was free and the rain didn't kill us. Fuck you Fukushima.

You're likely reading from sensationalist sources. The spill honestly wasn't even all that bad. To give you a hint, people in the reactor and within a hundred feet may have died of exposure. Within the mile, lasting damage may occur. Past that, there's not really much at all. Additionally, water acts as an excellent buffer for practically all natural and man-made disasters (maybe not hurricanes).

I can try to find some sources on the topic if you like, but it's late so I'm just writing what I remember right now.

One radiation leak won't poison the whole world's water. The reporting of this incident is really inaccurate. Lots of sources used this map http://americanlivewire.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/fukushima__noaa_rad_plume.jpg to demonstrate how terrible it will be but that map doesn't even apply to Fukushima; it was about the Tsunami in Japan. It's all just standard news sensationalism.

Kind of an odd way to end the post, just saying. I think it's terrible, horrible, but what am I gonna do? What can I do? Nothing really, just let the Japanese chemist solve it on their own. Yeah it sucks that other countries aren't helping, or that the American media has not reported it, but really what can you do. We have problems of our own. I know this may sound like some kind of a douchebag response, but really, unless you know how to solve it and are willing to fly on a plane there isn't anything you can do. It's not like Haiti, countless people can go there and help the poor, but this radiation leak is not about being poor it's about having the right skills and knowledge to stop a disaster... It does suck though that this hasn't been reported in the American media.
