Is it normal i am this motivated by receiving compliments?

I noticed today that many of the things I do are motivated by a desire to show everyone how talented and creative I am. I seem to feed off of compliments and honestly I would rather have a hot girl telling me how great I am than to have her come to my house and have sex with me and not show appreciation towards my greatness.
I don't try to manipulate people to compliment me though. It has to be a genuine compliment showing appreciation of my talents. I think I feel this way because positive attention provides me with a relief of boredom and it entertains me to be admired by everyone.
