Is it normal i am missing my adult canines?

I went to the dentist and he told me that I was missing my adult canines :( What can I do about this, and if so does it hurt? Most importantly, is this normal??

    Adult canines are those sharp teeth right?
    What do you mean if it hurts? since you don't have adult canines, you should still be able to eat food. as long as nothing bothers you while chewing or anything, I don't see a problem.
    ANYWAY!
    why didn't you ask your Dentist these questions?
