Is it normal i am a litlle more traditionaly in ways of life?

I am a senior in high school, and let me say, I could not stand out more than I already do. I don't stand out negativly, its just that I am a little more old fashioned about things. Instead of watching TV I prefer to quietly read a book. Instead of being online (still am once in a while though)i prefer to study/ do housework. Instead of driving somewhere, If it is close proximity, i will walk, and so on and so forth. I guess you could say that the way I live is more simple. I still go to church on Sunday mornings and have a meal with my family afterwards. My clothing is also very plain. Solid color longsleeve shirts/shotrsleeve in the summer. Blue jeans in the winter, and solid color shorts in the summer. A pair of solid color shoes for the winter, and sandals in the summer. I feel that no one likes me, just because I am different. I dont want to get caught up with all the latest information. Is it normal, or even a good thing, that I continue to live a more simple life that most teens do?

My family will still go on vacations and do fun stuff, but we taake vacations to quiet less crowded places. I promise you I wwont bite. :)

  • I don't really see how that is living more "tradtionally" or "old fashioned" because those terms imply you are living in a way that was specific to a particular time in history. What you've described is just living simply.

There's nothing wrong with it. There's also nothing about it that would make you superior to people who don't do the same. Good for you for doing your own thing and not worrying about how others feel about you.

It's a good thing, we need to move back to simpler ways in some respects.

and a few year down the road the ones calling you a stuff shirt will be the ones you are managing to run the company you are the head of. But beware not to step on their hands going up the ladder. You may have to kiss their ass on the way down, don't burn the only bridge out of town. Don't piss of a building because tomorrow you may have to be cleaning the streets below.

Your incredibly lucky that town is within walking distance. A lot of us need a vehicle to go anywhere and that can be a real hassle.
