Is it normal i always make people jump when i arrive anyplace?

How do you properly enter a doorless room without scaring the crap out of someone? People are so jumpy. I'm constantly scaring them they'll be doing something else and I will announce my presence, or greet them, or just walk in and they will jump, have a mini heart attack and cry out "oh, you scared me!!." It happens ALLL the time. Is it normal? I would hardly think of myself as stealthy and I think I have a general good vibe about myself I think people are just in their own worlds most the time and not taking in whats around them.

Are you teleporting into this doorless room? How did other people get into the doorless room?
I think if I was in a doorless room and someone popped in on me I'd say, "oh, you scared me!!, too.

    • haha well if it's doorless its not hard to work out how other people got into the room is it?

No I'm not teleporting into the room but I am disappointed teleportation hasn't been invented yet. When I was little I used to watch a show called "beyond 2000, which predicted the introduction of teleports 10 years ago!

I should probably edit the post. I just wanted to remove the door equation from my problem or people would say "well how come they don't hear the door opening and closing when you enter"
it's because I'm entering premises where the door is open, or there is an archway. such as when I start work and take over from the person on before me.

When I am on shift and people enter I notice them and greet them I never get taken by surprise. I suppose it depends on your peripheral and how much you take in your surroundings at any given time. I think maybe the answer to this is to stomp into work so they hear my footsteps approaching! hahaha but then i would feel like an idiot!

anyway thank you for your answer you've helped me work this out or at least prompted me to work it out on my own.
