Is it normal i always feel bad for the scrooge?

Every-time I hear the story of the scrooge I always feel bad for the guy. I know we are suppose to hate the guy but why should we? He was a lonely orphan that no one ever adopted, left the orphanage at 18 and went on to build a business from the ground up. He was alone and never got a helping hand from anyone. Why is he expected to suddenly give back to a world that rejected him? Yes some people would treat others better after something like this but really he does not ow anyone anything. Its understandable to see why he hates the world.

You must have watched a modern version of the story because the synopsis you give isn't the original.

  • I thought about Patrick Stewart and Bill Murray after reading this.
