Big problem. I started dating this guy 4m ago. He is really sweet and calls me beautiful everyday. His nick name for me is cutebarr. In the few short months we been together I feel like we're kindred spirits. He even propose to me last week but I told him no. I'm in love with him but not there at that stage yet. But there is one thing my girlfriends don't like about him. He has a gap in his teeth. I overlook it but they tease me constantly about this. They say really hurtful things. And I want to confront them about this but I'm a little shy about expressing feelings. It is annoying and frankly I don't see what the big deal is. Who am I to judge him for the way he was born or whatever. He could have one arm shorter than the other and be blind. I love this man and I wish I can get my girls to see that. Any suggestions on how I could tell them to stop so I can keep my lover and friends?

    Tell them that you love him and that it's none of their business who you date. If they can't accept you for dating him, then they're no friends of yours and you need to meet new ones.

    First off, they don't seem like very good 'friends'. What kind of friends talk shit about someone you care about right in front of you? They obviously don't have any respect for your feelings. It doesn't really matter what they think, but if you care that much you should stick up for him and tell them how you really feel.

    These friends seem like very snotty, stuck up bitches. Im sure they never say anything when he is around, so imagine what they say about you behind your back.... I agree that you probably need to find new friends. If you truly believe they are good people, and insist on keeping them as friends you need to say something the next time it is brought up. Say "knock it off. I know, ive heard it a million times he has a gap in his teeth. Its hurtful and rude and it stops now. " Boom.
