Is it normal how he washes his face?

I remember ever since very young, my younger brother would wash his face with his eyes open. I completely forgot about this until the other day when we came home and he only had time to wash his face before leaving again that he still has his eyes open when washing his face. I do not understand how the soap does not burn or get into his eyes.

      So you mean to tell me that you let soap get in or around your eyes while open? I just wanted to verify and prove to my brother that his face washing technique is not normal, most of the time. I did notice 4 of the 28 votes say it is normal.

    Yes it's normal to wash your face and keep your eyes open. I don't get soap near my eyes. Close, but not too close. I don't know why you think it's not normal. How else can you see if you are getting soap all over in the right places??

      My wash cloth is fully lathered and I know to just cover my whole face and wipe every part.

    Maybe he closes his eyes when you can't see them while he has his hands over them rubbing his face, then when he takes his hands away to rinse he opens his eyes.

      I still feel that it would burn my eyes still. He is very brave for that and I feel it is pointless lol.

    i do the same way its so easy not that difficult and before it gets to the danger zone i have rubbed my face and its time to pour water..... you just have to prevent touching the eyes..!!

    i do that sometimes it kinda hurts but makes me feel more refreshed maybe it doesnt feel like its clean enough if the eyes is closed its like an impulse or something but yea i can relate :)

    Definately understand where you're coming from on this one but maybe he's very careful when he does it or his eyes don't hurt from the soap.Is he aware that he does this?

      Yea, he is aware. I asked him why and he only said because he doesn't like to keep his eyes closed. I think he is very careful like you stated. So far we know that it is not normal lol.
