Is it normal his teeth!!!!!

So I went on a date today with a guy - not the most charming guy in the world, a little abrupt and macho, but we got on well. He's very tall, pretty good looking and we hit it off well - he was very straightforward on the date, told me he liked me and that he wants to see me again. I was interested by him even though his character was a little off - by which I just mean very different to guys I normally meet (he's Romanian - but please try not to drop a buttload of stereotypes and Daily Mail comments please as I'll just ignore them) but I found that interesting - I like exploring different minds and there was a certain amount of tension between us. All in all, I would definitely date him again.

EXCEPT HIS TEETH. HIS TEETH ARE TERRIBLE. Not, like, rotten, but just growing all over the place sideways and back and forth and so on. It sucks because other than that I am definitely attracted to him. BUT HIS TEETH, HIS TERRIBLE TEETH. I just can't imagine tongue-kissing him.

WUDDOIDO and am I being a shallow dick? I really do want to see him again but...HIS TEETH.

You should feel bad because you're being shallow. Just because his teeth aren't straight doesn't mean he has bad dental hygiene. He might brush and floss twice a day and still have teeth that look like that, because it's genetic. Also, people from other countries don't get braces as often as Americans do, which would explain their more frequent not straight teeth.

You know Im not obsessed with teeth like most people are. Are his teeth dirty/gross or just crowded? Only Americans have the obsession for perfect teeth alignment. Mersaphe is correct other countries don't send their kids to the orthodontist "just because"...however you cant help what attracts you or turns you off so if it bothers you a lot(and it does)Id try to find someone else.
For me, I couldn't go out with a bald guy no matter how much I liked him. Yes its shallow but as a rule, we all are.

Don't let his teeth get in the way of a good thing.

I find bad oral hygiene a deal breaker. But a guy can have orthodontia and still have good oral hygiene. Plus, it's fixable. Try to get past it. If he seems like a good guy and someone you have a connection with, go out a few more times and see how you feel. If it still bothers you, then that's that.

It would be mean to judge him by something he can't really change, but don't feel bad just because it turns you off. It's like feeling bad because you don't like the color blue.. It's just a preference - you can't help it.

  • Sounds absolutely terrible. I can't even imagine the horrors you went through as you got sucked into the void while looking at those jagged teeth.

But, if you truly feel that you can't get past this, you should let him go. It would be better than stringing him along. Personally speaking, I hate blindingly white teeth. It may as well be a deal breaker for me.
