I hate country and my whole family loves it. It doesn't matter where you grew up its all down what YOU like. Of course its normal.
First of all, WOOOO TENNESSEE!!!
Secondly, I despise pop-country music, but I have a fierce love of traditional folk music from the region, bluegrass, and all that great stuff from the mountain-dwelling folk who kept the traditions alive.
You give me a fiddle and a lively beat and I'm dancin'!
If it's that horrible electric guitar wailing ultra-modern country 'n western pop music, I lose my lady-boner in an instant.
So, I guess it depends on what you call country music!
yes, its normal, just because something is popular in your region or to your age group doesnt mean youre going to like it. if that were the case, i would be listening to katy perry or whatever hip-hop/pop garbage everyone my age around here seems to like. i also cant stand the newer country, yuck!
almost all the music i listen to is older than me, and i like it better. (theyres a few newer rock artists i like, but not many)
I'm not a fan of country either, except for Angels of light but I guess that's more folky.
