Is it normal: had a violent dream? (please read)

Okay so before I went to bed I saw a Bioshock Infinite commercial (for anyone that doesn't know, it's a sequel to a video game) and played Oblivion (also a video game.) And I read Ender's Game (a sci-fi)

In my dream a girl became a vampire (like in Oblivion) and she went into a cyber-market place (like in Ender's game) and there was a flashback where a character from Bioshock was going to kill someone with a hook (it didn't actually show the killing) and the girl later find her family and only see their limbs (they are poorly drawn from Oblivion, with orange-colored blood) and said "What have I done?" and my dream ended.

I am really scared, I have never been violent, I try saving animals a lot (a deer mouse, a crow) I get sad when I see the homeless and so many other things. I am terrified that my dream was so violent.

Was my dream just like that because I played video games before bed? (Even in my dream I said the limbs looked like the video game) it was so similar to the games I played, but so violent!

    It's common for things you were doing or thinking about before bedtime to carry over into your dreams. Many people use this to solve problems. Think about a problem you are facing and sometimes you can work out a solution in your dreams.

    Very easy to explain, look girl every thought reflects the spirit. U re too fascinated playing this game of urs. It is now affecting ur trauma. Hence u ve to quit this immediately b4 psycho occur. Attend shows, party, churches 4 weeks.

    I dreamt that I beat people to death with a bat. I enjoyed it but it was only a dream. I haven't seen those guys at school since then, though. Weird...
    Bioshock infinite looks fun. :D

    just don't play minecraft before bed. that sorta shizz in a dream can weird it up a bit too much!

    Yes, dreams are just your brain taking things from your memory and refiling them. The place it shuffles them around is your thinking part of your head. This makes dreams. It's actually a LOT more complicated than that, but that's basically what's going on. So you fill your head with these things- into the dreams they go!

    As other poster's have said, this is a very good way to solve problems, as your subconscious is a lot less cluttered than your conscious brain, which leads to cleverer dreams than thoughts :P

    Because of all the video games I have played, all of my dreams are in video game form. It's like I'm looking at a screen and controlling MYSELF in MY REAL LIFE. It's usually 3rd person too. I wish I had normal dreams..

    Yeah, sometimes when I play games before bed I dream that I'm inside them, lol. And I normally do VERY odd things.... like make-out with the protagonist... or I get killed. :(

    A dream doesn't represent who u are. It just recalls things from your subconscious (things you see, you hear, etc). So yeah...it's because u played that game.. also, there is the tv etc, things we don't even think about!..

    Just a dream, a cool one. Ive been having violent and weird dreams so lately too and sometimes get scared but after think about it, its like watching a movie or playing a video game, cool ones cuz you are inmerse in them. Dont worry you are not becoming a psicho.
