Is it normal guard checks take up to 7 months?

I signed to get a guard card. However when I looked it said it takes 7 months to process card and background. I didn't know it was going to take this long. why does it take so long.

      Card you have to get before you can sign up to be a guard. However it apparently takes 7 months to process. Even though guards only make about 4-5 bucks over minimum wage.

    There's always a huge back log for background checks, these days.
    No matter what the pay, you obviously need a spotless record to have any position where you are guarding anything, other than a garbage dump, I'd think.
    If you are ex-military, I'd think you could fast track it, but otherwise, you're just going to have to wait your turn.

      I have a spotless record. Also you can be one with a criminal record but it takes 16-19 months for that.

        Oh. I didn't read a damn thing, I just read the title and I thought it was like a specific type of check, as in the ones from the bank.
