    WTF is ejercie?

This may be normal or not depending on how long you've been doing it: a specific number of calories isn't a magic wand, you know.

Apart from the last irrelevant sentence, richardgere whatever is correct: if you drastically reduce your calorie intake suddenly your body goes into "starvation mode" and stores up just about everything you eat as fat. It would be much better to change your eating habits slowly and eat small meals 4 -6 times a day so you're not tempted to snack in between. AND drink lots of water too ....

Just cutting out chips & chocolates doesn't necessarily mean you're eating a healthy diet: vegetables, fruit, whole grain ......... it isn't rocket science!

What did you weigh before and what do you weigh now?

You should research metabolic syndrome. Sounds like you must have fucked up your metabolism by an unhealthy lifestyle. Now your body is unbalanced. I am not a doctor but google is a good tool...use it. Are you a fatass or just slighty overweight? Painal feels so f ing good.

I may not be a physical pr diet instructor here. But you need to understand this. You need to eat full at breakfast, medium at lunch, and few on dinner. No skipping meals. Those who skip meals lose their fast metabolism factor and makes them crave or eat more at the afternoon. Dont drink sodas, whole milk, sweetened juices and teas. Drink water, tea, and skim milk. Go on protein more. Eat tofu, soy, fish meat, chicken meat, eggs. Eat peanut butter as it is healthy fats also nuts. Avoit crackers, cookies. And exercise too.

Is it possible you're actually eating more calories than before?
I really don't think you'd go into starvation mode on 1400 calories/day. To get to that level, you have to drastically decrease calories to a few hundred or less a day for quite a while, then eat normally and THAT's when your body starts storing fat like never before.

I don't think your metabolism is screwed or your body thinks you're starving. Do more ejercie (exercise), or vary the diet by having 2000 calories a few days a week. And have 12-1500 on other days.
And weigh yourself - how do you know you've actually put on weight??
Not an expert, don't take this too seriously.

The calorie diet is not for everyone, if your body needs more food than what the calorie diet suggest, then your body will go into fat-storing mode. Which means your body may think it's starving, so it will store food rather than take energy from the food you're eating, but the energy instead will come from the insulin in the blood.

What you should be doing is eating three full meals a day, with light, yet healthy snacking in between; this will fight the fat-storing thing and let your body know that you're not starving. Along with that, you should really exercise. If traditional exercising is too boring, then try programs like Cize or Zumba, where you dance and such.
