Is it normal getting closer to a third person, than a friend?

Ok, here is the deal. I met a person like 2 years ago through a friend, and now that person and I, are closer than my friend and I. Cause that "third" person tweets to me, calls me, chats with me, and is more interested to keep in touch with me, than my friend. That person is very cool, and I like sharing together, but is it normal being closer to a third, than a friend that i met for more than 6 years?

    Absolutely! Some people just meet and connect on a level that they just haven't with anyone else. It happens all the time. My best friend/boyfriend I've only known for 5 years now, but when we first met, we instantly bonded and had this crazy connection and understanding of each other.
