  • I don't think they're all the same, they're just like anyone else. Some are good friends, some not so much.

In high school one of my best friends was a closet gay. We all knew but anyway he was fuckin fabulous, not like super fruity fabulous but whatever. I haven't seen him or heard from him in a long time and I miss him a lot :( he made me laugh so much.

I have a friend who is gay too, but he's a very complicated person, very egoistic and rude. So, I'm saying "no".

umm, no. Just like any other type of person, there are a LOT of freaking terrible bitchy faggots that should go die in a rainbow fire.

Any person can make the best friend, it doesn't matter if they are the same sex, opposite sex, gay, straight, or intersexual.

I have a friend that has like 10 close gay guy friends. I guess when you become friends with one then you hang out with his friends and go to gay clubs etc.

Yeah. I don't know if I just attract gay people as best friends or something, because they've always been a part of my life. Even my best friend as a child turned out to be gay. I have straight best friends too, though.

Not to offend anybody, but there are too many "types" of gay guys to give an accurate opinion on this question. I seem to have come across all sorts in my life.

The fun loving ones, who are ideal friends because they're witty and dynamic,
The bossy ones who have narcissistic tendencies and are secretly bitchy and backstabbing (not so ideal)

The extravagant feminine ones (good match for a girly girl but others may find them grinding over time)
The-so-deep-in-the-closet-they're-halfway-to-narnia-ones that you may not even realize that you have a gay friend until he rebuffs sexual advances from the opposite gender for no good reason (A good friend but one you may find mysterious, troubled and guarded)

And the perverted priest who just likes little boys.
But that's more pedophilic than gay (but still gay to a certain degree and you may have to compete with Jesus for his attention.)

*rolls eyes in irritation* Gay men tend to be the biggest misogynists, I find.... also, you're assuming all females want one or have one. So I think.

I'm female, but only biologically speaking, and bi.

I don't know why, but with one or two exceptions, all of my close friends are gay.

Interesting. I have several friends that like the same sex. Most are very wealthy. Do you have these kind of friends? Most likely, if they have a little money, they have some brains as well. Hope you enjoy all your close friends. I do.

Some do, some don't. It really depends on the person.

A girl with gay "best" friend is just afraid to get close to a hetero guy. A gay "best" friend is safe, little chance of sex and just as emotional and screwed up as you are to want to be w/a gay guy, not a straight one.

This^ I would make a freaking awesome "gusband", but girls don't even think to look at a straight guy in that way.

Who would take romantic advice from some sailor who spends their life in close quarters with a bunch of derelict men anyway?

You should see my girlfriend. She ain't no "bunch of derelict men", that's for sure.
On the OP's post though, think about why a young, attractive woman would prefer a close friendship w/ a gay guy to a hetero guy. It's safe! No chance of physical involvement. None, nada, nyet....
