Is it normal for your throat to bruise after oral?

When I give my partner oral I get a bruise that looks like a thick line across the middle of my neck right over my esophagus. It doesn't hurt unless you push on it, but I'm very pale so it shows up really dark. We take things super slow and he's never rough, but maybe it's just the stretching that causes the bruising?

I'm a very "vanilla"/private person so It's really embarrassing to have, and I don't want to have to grow a neck beard or wear something to cover it up lol.

      I highly doubt that's what happens, as the bruising goes away after a few days each time it happens. We've been monogamously together for two years and both got tested last year, there's not a high chance either of us has any stds.

      On the outside around my Adam's apple, I don't know if the inside is bruised, but swallowing feels sorta tight

          We already don't have full sex because that has the potential to be damaging as well, I have little to no sex drive so I already feel guilty enough with the how little sexual attention I give him. We only do this maybe once every other week.

          But maybe you're right, it would limit our sexual experiences to hands only though.

            Some bodies aren't meant to take certain sexual acts that others can. If your partner values you, he'll understand that you don't want to damage yourself anymore.
